Terms and Conditions of Sale
Article 1 — Purpose
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use (“ GTCU”) are intended to set out the terms under which the Paris Place de Droit association, an association governed by the Act of 1 July 1901, offers, via its online platform accessible at www.pariscityoflaw.com (the ‘Platform’):
- registration for events organised or offered by Paris Place de Droit;
- the purchase of tickets or services associated with these events, where a charge is made for them;
- membership of Paris Place de Droit and, where applicable, the renewal of that membership;
- online payment of the relevant amounts;
- and, more generally, the use of the features available on the Platform.
These Terms and Conditions of Use apply to any person using the Platform (‘the User’), whether or not they are a member of Paris Place de Droit.
Any registration for a paid event or any membership taken out via the Platform implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
Article 2 — Identification of Paris Place de Droit
The Platform is operated by:

Hereinafter referred to as ‘Paris Place de Droit’ or ‘the Association’.
Article 3 — Access to events
The events featured on the Platform may include:
- free;
- paid;
- reserved for members of Paris Place de Droit;
- open to members and non-members;
- subject to specific conditions set out on the event details page.
For each event, the Platform specifies, in particular, where such information is applicable:
- its title;
- the date and times;
- the venue or the arrangements for remote participation;
- the conditions of access;
- the applicable rate;
- any specific enrolment conditions;
- the number of places available, where applicable.
Registration is only considered final once it has been validated and, where there is a fee for the event, payment has been confirmed.
Article 4 — Registration and user account
Some features of the Platform may require you to create a user account.
The User undertakes to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
They are responsible for keeping their login details confidential and for any use made of their account.
The User must notify Paris Place de Droit as soon as possible of any unauthorised use of their account.
Paris Place de Droit reserves the right to suspend or delete an account in the event of fraudulent or abusive use, or use that contravenes these Terms and Conditions of Use.
Article 5 — Fees
The applicable rates are those displayed on the Platform at the time of registration or membership.
Prices are shown in euros.
Where a VAT exemption applies to Paris Place de Droit, prices are quoted in accordance with the tax regime applicable to the Association.
The applicable price is the one shown when the order is confirmed.
Article 6 — Ordering and Payment
The User selects the event, the type of ticket, the membership or any other service on offer, and then enters the information required to confirm their order.
Before final confirmation, a summary of the order details and the total amount payable is displayed to the User.
The order is definitively confirmed once the User has confirmed it and, where required, payment has been received.
Payment is made via the secure payment provider offered on the CAWL Platform
Paris Place de Droit does not store full credit card details when these are processed directly by the payment service provider, subject to the terms set out in the Privacy Policy.
Article 7 — Finality of payments and no refunds
Unless otherwise required by law or expressly decided by Paris Place de Droit, any payment made on the Platform is final and shall not give rise to a refund, credit note or set-off solely on the grounds of the User’s cancellation or failure to participate.
This rule applies in particular where the User:
- cancels their registration;
- is ultimately unable to attend the event;
- does not attend the event;
- or cancels their membership after making their payment.
In the case of events relating to leisure activities that are to be provided on a specific date or during a specific period, the right of withdrawal provided for in the Consumer Code does not apply under the conditions set out in Article L. 221-28(12) of the Consumer Code.
However, this clause does not prejudice any rights to which the User may be entitled under a mandatory legal provision, in particular in the event of the event being cancelled by Paris Place de Droit where the applicable regulations require a refund.
Paris Place de Droit may, at its sole discretion and on an exceptional basis, decide to issue a full or partial refund or offer a credit note. Such an exceptional decision does not constitute an acquired right for the User and shall not establish a binding practice for subsequent orders.
Article 8 — Cancellation or alteration of an event by Paris Place de Droit
Paris Place de Droit may be required to change the terms and conditions, venue, times or date of an event for reasons beyond its control or for organisational reasons.
In the event of a substantial change to or the definitive cancellation of an event, Paris Place de Droit will inform those who have registered as soon as possible and, where applicable, will specify the applicable arrangements for postponement, replacement or refund.
Where a refund is agreed or required by law, it will be processed in accordance with the terms and conditions provided by Paris Place de Droit.
Article 9 — Ticketing and conditions of entry
Where the event gives rise to the issue of an e-ticket, this is sent to the User by email or can be accessed via their account.
The ticket may be issued in a specific person’s name. In this case, Paris Place de Droit may ask for proof of identity to be shown on entry to the event.
The User is responsible for keeping their ticket safe and ensuring they have the information required to gain entry to the event.
Article 10 — Membership of Paris Place de Droit
The Platform can be used to apply for membership of Paris Place de Droit and to pay the relevant membership fee.
Membership is subject to the Association’s Articles of Association and, where applicable, its Rules of Procedure.
Payment of the membership fee does not, in itself, constitute definitive acceptance of membership where the Articles of Association provide for a specific admission procedure or a decision by a body of the Association.
When membership is subject to approval by Paris Place de Droit, the organisation informs the applicant of the decision taken.
The membership fee is separate from any fee paid to take part in an event.
Unless otherwise provided for by law or the Articles of Association, the payment of a membership fee shall not give rise to a refund solely on the grounds that the member subsequently decides to cease participating in the Association’s activities or no longer wishes to benefit from their membership.
Article 11 — Use of the Platform
The User undertakes to use the Platform in accordance with the laws and regulations in force and these Terms and Conditions of Use.
In particular, he is prohibited from:
- to voluntarily provide false or misleading information;
- to use the Platform for fraudulent purposes;
- attempting to gain unauthorised access to computer systems;
- to disrupt the operation of the Platform;
- to circumvent the security measures that have been put in place;
- to use a forged ticket or receipt.
Any fraudulent use may result in the suspension or deletion of the account and, where applicable, the cancellation of the orders concerned, without prejudice to any legal action that may be taken.
Article 12 — Availability of the Platform
Paris Place de Droit endeavours to ensure the Platform is available.
However, the Association cannot guarantee that the service will be available at all times, particularly due to maintenance work, updates, technical issues or circumstances beyond its control.
Paris Place de Droit shall not be held liable for any difficulties in accessing the site arising from the User’s equipment, internet connection or technical environment.
Article 13 — Personal data
Personal data collected in connection with the use of the Platform is processed in accordance with Paris Place de Droit’s Privacy Policy, which can be found at [LINK TO PRIVACY POLICY].
This policy sets out, in particular, the purposes of data processing, the legal bases, the recipients of the data, the retention periods and the rights of data subjects.
Article 14 — Electronic communications
The User agrees to receive communications necessary for the processing of their registrations, orders and memberships.
These communications may relate, in particular, to:
- confirmation of enrolment;
- a ticket;
- a payment confirmation;
- a change to or cancellation of an event;
- membership management;
- administrative details relating to the account.
Commercial communications or information relating to the activities of Paris Place de Droit are sent in accordance with the applicable rules on electronic marketing and, where required, subject to the User’s consent.
Article 15 — Liability
Paris Place de Droit takes reasonable steps to ensure the smooth operation of the Platform and the accuracy of the information published on it.
However, Paris Place de Droit cannot be held liable for any damage arising, in particular, from:
- a temporary interruption to the Platform;
- a fault attributable to a third party;
- an error or disruption to the internet;
- the User’s unauthorised use of the Platform;
- an external and unforeseeable event constituting a force majeure event.
The limitations of liability set out in this article apply subject to any applicable mandatory legal provisions.
Article 16 — Complaints
Any complaints may be addressed to:
Paris Place de Droit
4 rue de Harlay – 75001 Paris, France
Email: contact@parisplacededroit.com
Paris Place de Droit will endeavour to respond to complaints as soon as possible.
Article 17 — Applicable law and competent court
These Terms and Conditions of Use are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties shall, as a matter of priority, seek an amicable solution.
Where the User is subject to mandatory rules conferring jurisdiction on a specific court, those rules shall continue to apply.
In the absence of any mandatory provision to the contrary, the matter may be brought before the competent French courts.
Article 18 — Amendments to the Terms and Conditions of Use
Paris Place de Droit may amend these Terms and Conditions of Use to take account of changes to the Platform, its services or the applicable regulations.
The applicable version is the one accepted by the User at the time of placing an order or registering.
The changes do not apply retrospectively to orders that have already been placed, except where permitted or required by law.
